Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican-American sportscaster. She currently works for ESPN as a anchor for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. The first time she worked for ESPN in 2016. The daughter of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was a bilingual since the age nine years old. It was a helpful ability that allowed her to secure her first position as a production assistant for Univision in Miami where she had the chance to collaborate with producers of national programming like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. A CBS subsidiary of St. Petersburg hired her following this to become the sports reporter. She also worked as a journalist on KNVO TV 48 Univision in Rio Grande Valley Texas. In reporting on news stories related to the trafficking of drugs and immigrants along the Texas and Mexico frontier, she worked as a news reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision, the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. She was also often asked to substitute for an anchor for the weather or sports. In the end, she was appointed anchor reporter and anchor for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her greater responsibilities. She covered events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and the NBA Postseason, as well as the Finals FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. Also, she produced Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. She was promoted as anchor of sports on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The anchor also worked in a similar as a reporter for the magazine program Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents hail from Veracruz Mexico. She was born November 22, 1985 in Mexico City. There is also a sister. The family moved into Miami in 1992 after they left Mexico. They divorced soon after and in 1995, she got married to a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo was diagnosed with kidney cancer. The couple remained there in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer, where she had been offered the chance to get a job. At the time of her senior year at high school, but having an idea of the direction she was going to take for her life, Antonietta attended at the University of Mount Union to examine if it was a good fit for her preferences. In the end, she was a fan of the university and it offered the degree that she had been looking for. When she completed her high school studies, she entered the University to pursue media studies. The professor she had was Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU Radio and was student in her class, developed a lasting relationship with the student. He encouraged her to be confident and self-confident. His passion for journalism had a profound impact on her and she, in turn, determined to meet his expectations, and to never fail him.
